With each Spring the warbler brings his friends to sing their songs outside my window. I like to paint warblers they are very colorful and cute. Hope Spring comes soon.
We've had so much snow this year, everything is blanketed in white, I didn't see or hear the little stream when I went out for a walk. The stream that flows under the stone bridge in this painting is like the one I pass by, I am also followed by this cute black dog. This painting is result of my walking.
Cool moments in the summer are a wonderful time to reflect on the rhythms of life. There were many times when I would sit at pond's edge and paint such scenes. Now, in the grip of winter, this type of coolness is appreciated.
This very old city is located on the water and called "Eastern Venice" in China, near my home town where my family came from. This girl dressed in red has just gotten off the boat and is following the steps up to her home.
In China there are many bamboo forests. We enjoy walking through them on the fallen bamboo leaves. Especially in the high mountains, the air and the bamboo are so fresh, the whole world is peaceful.
All these years no matter where I live, my friends always joke that I am a painting machine. It sounds funny until 2 weeks ago my right arm decided it needed a rest, I realize it was sending me a message--not only take more time off but also shouldn't take everything for granted in life.

An Artist's Life
I began my art study at the age of nine with my father, Gao Yi-hung (1907-1982), who was a leading Chinese artist and the calligraphy master to Chiang Kai-shek’s son, Chiang Ching-guo, the President of the Republic of China. I also had the unique opportunity to study with some of China’s most outstanding watercolorists.
In 1996, Madame Lien Zhan, the wife of the former Vice-President of the Republic of China, opened the art exhibition at the Dr. Sun Yet-sun Memorial Hall in Taiwan.
I received a Fine Arts degree from NationalTaiwanNormalUniversity and studied in the graduate art program at the University of Hawaii.
My paintings have been exhibited at Lincoln Center and the Soho Art Museum, New York; the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C.; Bower Museum, California; Currier Museum of Art, NH.; and the DeCordova Museum, MA.
At the Copley Society of Boston MA., the oldest art society in the U.S., I was the first Chinese artist to be honored with both a solo exhibition and a Masters Workshop program in 2003.
My art work is frequently featured in various news media. My paintings have been widely exhibited and awarded in prestigious venues and collected internationally for over three decades.
My art book is published by The Taiwan Commercial Press in 2014.
